Today was our day of rest - Sunday. We worshiped along with the congregation in Nygezi, Pastor Julius' church. I so love the dancing in worship in Tanzanian churches...no doubt multiplied throughout many African churches. It was fantastic and I found myself dancing along in my chair, trying to follow the movement of the choir as they danced. Edah kept telling me I should go up with them, but I am convinced my awkwardness would have been quite the distraction from worship!
We ate at a great pizza shop in Mwanza City for lunch, although our stomachs were pretty full from Susannah's (Julius' wife) yummy donuts after church :) After our little pizza rendezvous, the consensus was to come back for some rest rather than tour the city - definitely the best decision!
Immanuel, Matari's son-in-law worked hard to get us an Airtel modem card to access the internet. I am most grateful for him - turns out the card just needed to be registered. If I could read Swahili maybe I would have figured that out!
Gisela and I played some "Bananagrams" tonight, up on the terrace and I managed to get some blogging done. We had a good prayer time together as a team, which was desperately needed. There is an urgency to press in in prayer at times and this was one of those times. This team is filled with women of prayer and wisdom and I am so, so grateful for the hearts that God has already developed in these women and continuing to shape and develop.
It is late...after midnight, and we are starting a busy week - I need to sleep. Father, watch over each of us tonight, as we sleep - the blood of the Lamb over each door post and window frame. Hallelujah! God reigns.
