April 24th Journal Entry

So, we are leaving Peru. I'm not sure how to feel - I'm incredibly grateful for this time. I'm looking forward to my home and bed and shower; to seeing family. At the same time, I will greatly miss Peru and the people we have come to know and work alongside. We heard yesterday that the strike in Yuri has been lifted for a time, but if the demands aren't met, the indigenous people will begin the strike again, even stronger than before. I really pray for wisdom for all leaders and that justice will be established in the midst of it all. There are complex issues at hand.

It will feel strange to arrive home. I will need to adjust to many things and likely won't even realize how until it is right upon me. I'm curious to see how it will feel.

I'm giggling at Steve up ahead on the plane - he has found a fellow Pelacho (bald one) and they are laughing away up there - pretty funny!

My eyes are heavy -will try and sleep now. Almost home.
